    • "WEST AUSTRALIAN VICTIMS.
      Tragedy on Honeymoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Hans L. Gloe were the
only West Australians aboard the airliner Kyeema. They were a young couple who had been married only three days, the wedding having taken place at Bunbury last Saturday afternoon. They left Perth on Monday morning by the airliner Bungana, having arranged to travel by air to Tasmania, where their honeymoon was to have been spent.
Mr. Gloe, who was aged 26 years, was
the elder son of Mr. and Mrs. J. J.
Gloe, of 20 Cooper-street, Nedlands. He was educated at the Perth Modern School and at the University of Western Australia where he took the degree of Bachelor of Science in 1934. At the University he was active in the affairs of the Guild of Undergraduates and a member of the University hockey team. After taking his science degree he entered the Australian School of Forestry at Canberra, and took his Diploma in Forestry. He joined the State Forests Department in 1935, as an assistant divisional officer and, according to the Conservator of Forests (Mr. S. L. Kessell) showed great promise in his work. Before going on leave he was stationed at Mundaring and, on his return, was to have been transferred to the Pemberton district.
Mr. Gloe's wife was formerly Miss Stella
Runciman, aged 22 years, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Runciman, of The
      Towers, Wilga."
      "HONEYMOON COUPLE
Mr. G. H. Gloe was a graduate of
      the University of Western Australia.
He was married at Bunbury (W.A.) on
      Saturday to Miss Stella Runciman.
The young couple were flying to Tas-
      mania on thelr honeymoon."

"It is with deep regret that we hear
of the deaths of Mr. and Mrs. Hans
Gloe, of Perth, who were aboard the
      airliner Kyeema. Mrs. Gloe, formerly
      Miss Stella Runciman, was a
sister of Sister Runciman of, Albany,
and Mr. Gloe will be well remem-
bered among the younger circles of
Albany as a scholar of the High
      School."
